Current Research

Folder FuSe-Map
A novel map rendering interface and design system being developed in the University of Calgary IMMERSE research lab.
Folder SeaTouch
Collaboration with the European Centre of Virtual Reality Seatouch software and hardware aims to provide for blind sailors' cartographic needs. Using haptic sensations, vocal announcements and realistic sounds, Seatouch allows blind sailors to prepare their maritime itineraries. Further than setting a route, Seatouch’s ambitions are to allow blind people to elaborate non visual map like representations.
Folder HapticSoundscapes
Ongoing research focused on developing multi-sensory access to GIS based systems to facilitate ease of access for novel users, for non-visual users and to extended opportunities for advanced users to collect, mine, validate and explore digital representations of geographic space. Collaboration with the University of California, at Santa Barbara
